FAQ

How do I create a point at the start, middle, or end of a line in XyzPilot?

Use Point/L,Start, Point/L,Mid, or Point/L,End with the line reference. No direction selector needed.

Full Answer

Use the Point/L,Start|Mid|End operator. Specify the line reference and the position (Start, Mid, or End). Each position is uniquely determined — no direction selector is required.

PositionResult
StartPoint at the start endpoint of the line
MidPoint at the exact geometric midpoint
EndPoint at the end endpoint of the line

XyzPilot Example

L0 = Line from (10, 20) to (70, 60) Point/L0, Start → P0 = (10, 20) [start endpoint] Point/L0, Mid → P1 = (40, 40) [midpoint] Point/L0, End → P2 = (70, 60) [end endpoint] Common use — perpendicular bisector: Point/L0, Mid → P1 = (40, 40) Line/P1, Perpto, L0, Length=50, Dir=Left → L1
