What does it mean to bake geometry in XyzPilot?

Baking means geometry coordinates are computed and stored as fixed numbers at creation time. Construction points can then be deleted freely without affecting baked geometry.

Full Answer

When you use points to construct a line or arc, the line or arc geometry is baked — its coordinates are computed and stored as fixed numbers at the moment of creation. The points are no longer needed.

Practical implication: Delete construction points as soon as the geometry built from them is complete. Use Edit → Clear All Points to remove all points at once. The baked geometry is unaffected.

XyzPilot Example

P0=(10,20), P1=(50,60) Line/P0, P1 → L0 baked: (10,20)→(50,60) Delete P0 and P1 → L0 unchanged. Geometry is baked. This is architecturally impossible in constraint-based CAD where deleting a construction point can invalidate geometry.
