Fillet/A,A

Fillet Between Two Arcs

Creates a fillet arc of specified radius between two existing arcs. The fillet arc is automatically trimmed to the tangent points — no separate trim step needed.

What It Does

The Fillet/A,A operator creates a fillet arc of specified radius between two existing arcs. The fillet arc is tangent to both arcs at the tangent points. Both arcs are automatically trimmed to the tangent points as part of this single operation.

Automatic trim: Both arcs are trimmed to the fillet tangent points automatically — no separate Trim operation needed.

Syntax

Fillet/A, A2, R

Quick Input

A: 0 A2: 1 R: 5

Direction Selector

No direction selector required. The fillet radius R and the two arc references fully determine the result. The fillet arc is placed at the intersection region of the two arcs.

Worked Examples

A: 0 A2: 1 R: 5 → Fillet arc of R=5 created between A0 and A1 A0 trimmed to fillet tangent point A1 trimmed to fillet tangent point

Analytic Rule

Find arc of radius R tangent to both A and A2. Tangent points computed analytically. Both arcs trimmed to tangent points automatically. Result: Exact analytic fillet arc.

FAQ

Do I need a separate Trim step?

No. The Fillet/A,A operator automatically trims both arcs to the fillet tangent points as part of its execution — the same behaviour as Fillet/L,L,R.

What is the difference between Fillet/L,L,R and Fillet/A,A?

Fillet/L,L,R creates a fillet between two lines. Fillet/A,A creates a fillet between two arcs.
