How do I use the User Coordinate System (UCS) in XyzPilot?

Use Set Translation (UCS) or Set Rotation (UCS) to work relative to a shifted or rotated coordinate system. Commit UCS Transform to make it permanent.

Full Answer

The UCS allows you to work relative to a translated or rotated coordinate system without permanently modifying existing geometry.

  • Set Translation (UCS) — shift the working origin
  • Set Rotation (UCS) — rotate the working coordinate system
  • Commit UCS Transform — permanently apply the transformation
  • Reset Transform (UCS) — return to standard Cartesian system

XyzPilot Example

Set Rotation (UCS) to 30 degrees Create geometry relative to 30 degree axis Commit UCS Transform → geometry rotated 30 degrees Set Translation (UCS) to (50, 30) Create geometry relative to (50,30) origin Commit UCS Transform → geometry offset
